Apple Card 6% cash back was an error, confirms Apple

After more than a day of user confusion, Apple officially confirmed that by using Apple Card to purchase Apple products, you can enjoy only 3% of the daily cashback reward. Earlier, many Apple Card users found that yesterday’s Apple consumption showed a daily cash return of 6%.

In an email to Apple Card users, Apple confirmed (via 9to5Mac) the error but added that it will redeem a 6% daily cash reward for affected users.

“You may have noticed that the most recent Apple purchase is eligible for 6% daily cash instead of the standard 3% daily cash.

This is an error caused by a system problem. However, in addition to the 3% of the daily cash you have received, we will provide you with a one-time additional 3% daily cashback-the daily cash for this purchase The total is 6%.

You will see the one-time points appear in the form of balance adjustments in the wallet application. This will also appear on your monthly statement in October.

As a reminder, future purchases at Apple are eligible for unlimited 3% daily cash. If you have any questions, please contact an Apple Card expert.”

Apple’s silence on the issue, and the fact that the company had previously offered a valid 6% daily cash bonus on two separate occasions, added to the confusion. Still, this time just seems to be a mistake.

Apple Card Daily Cash is issued at the end of each day and appears directly through your Apple Cash card in the iPhone Wallet application. You can then transfer money to the bank, apply it to your Apple Card balance, use Apple Pay to make spending, or use it for Apple Cash transactions with friends and family.
