Recently, the upcoming fourth installment of the Age of Empires real-time strategy series was unveiled at the Fan Preview event, during which Relic Entertainment announced that the game would launch in Fall 2021.
The first video demonstrating the gameplay was also published, which we bring to your attention in this article. The developers tried to transfer popular elements from Age of Empires II to the new game, however, Age of Empires IV will have many innovations, for example, sheltering troops in trees for an ambush, not to mention a completely new visual component.
Age of Empires IV will include eight civilizations at launch, including the Delhi Sultanate and China. They joined the previously announced Mongols and British. Four historical campaigns have also been confirmed.
Those interested will be able to try out the game before release, as Relic will soon begin closed beta testing of Age of Empires IV. The developer encouraged interested players to register as Age Insider on the official website in order to gain access. Age of Empires IV is coming to Steam and Microsoft Store for Windows, as well as Xbox Game Pass for PC on release day.
