BGMI crosses 100 million registered users within a year

The Korean game maker Krafton announced that the Indian version of its mobile game “PUBG Mobile” has over 100 million registered players. After the “PUBG Mobile” mobile game was banned in India in 2020, Krafton launched a separate mobile game called ” Battlegrounds Mobile India “, which is an India-specific version of the game.

When it went live again in July 2021, the game was an immediate explosive success, with exponential player growth and over 50 million cumulative downloads within 44 days of launch.

Moreover, the company also held e-sports events in India last year to expand the number of local users. The total prize money is 10 million rupees, attracting more than 540,000 people to participate in the preliminary round.

This year, it has been expanded to 20 million rupees, and on the first anniversary of its launch, the official will hold 4 professional and semi-professional tournaments with prize money of 60 million rupees.
