CD Projekt Red and Techland developers received additional funding but postponed until 2022: The Invincible

Recently, Polish studio Starward Industries, made up of former developers CD Projekt Red and Techland, announced that The Invincible has received additional funding. The project will not be released in 2021 as originally planned.

The Invincible was announced in September 2020. Inspired by Stanislaw Lem’s novel Invincible (1964), it will be a retro-futuristic first-person sci-fi thriller.

“Invincible,” tells the story of a space expedition to the planet Regis III, where the main character must survive in a hostile environment and find traces of the missing expedition. Starward has confirmed that the game is inspired by Alien: Isolation and Firewatch in terms of gameplay and atmosphere. The non-linear storyline and multiple endings are promised.

The budget increase is $ 700,000. The game will get bigger, but it will also increase the development time. Therefore, the release will take place in 2022 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X | S.
