Cyberpunk 2077 getting back on PlayStation is entirely Sony’s decision, says CD Projekt

Sony is still deciding whether to bring the Cyberpunk 2077 back to the PlayStation Store, according to CD Project Red. At a shareholders’ meeting organized by CD Project Red earlier this week (via VGC), the developer of Cyberpunk 2077 stated that Sony’s decision to put RPG back on the PlayStation Storefront was entire with Sony.

“This decision is a special decision from Sony, so we look forward to hearing that they have decided to bring the game back,” CD Project Red chairman Adam Kissinski told a shareholders’ meeting.

This is not the first time the Red Project Red leadership has raised the issue of bringing Cyberpunk 2077 back to the PlayStation Store. Over the past few months, we have implemented different-sized patches for Cyberpunk 2077 on all platforms, not just the PlayStation console.

In March, when the CD project first commented on the situation with Red Sony, the massive Patch 1.2 for Action RPG was released, introducing more than 500 new enhancements and adjustments for Cyberpunk 2077. The patch introduced some stability to players, both the Xbox One and the PS4 in particular, the CD project’s game really struggling to run.

Cyberpunk 2077 was removed from the PlayStation Store in December 2020, just weeks after its launch. At that point, Sony pulled the RPG from its storefront “until further notice” on quality issues. The game stated the desire to “ensure a high level of customer satisfaction”. Since the original decision was made half a year ago, Sony has not yet commented on the situation.

Meanwhile, CD Project Cyberpunk has given an update on further development for 2077. The company said it would reconsider the multiplayer component earlier this year, which will initially launch as an independent product, moving the country forward this year. -Gen upgrade for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S versions of the Cyberpunk 2077.
