Monster Hunter Rise is receiving a free title update to version 3.0 on May 27th. DLC features new monster encounters including Crimson Glow Wallstrokes and Apex Xenogre. Version 3.0 adds many other features to the new Boss Battle Arena, such as quests and weapons trees. According to the update stream, each of these new additions must be unlocked by unknown circumstances.

The free 3.0 update also brings new paid DLC, which includes hunter voices, pose sets, stickers, face paints, hairstyles, Cohoot outfits, music, and layered armor for hunters Palico, and Palamute.

On the Monster Hunter Stories 2 side, Capcom has the right of channeling feature of the game unique to the Stories series. This mechanic is caught trying to transfer genes from one “monster” to another. This system is similar to the fusion system used in the Shin Megami Tense.

In addition to gameplay details, the event will play additional content in the future on both Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Stories. Capcom plans to include updates for these two titles, version 3.1 coming to Rising in late June, with more event explorations and DLC. Players can get a separate crossover shield from each title by having one or the other save the file on your Nintendo Switch console.

There is also an update in mid-June titled “Capcom Collab 1” which brings costumes and other equipment from other Capcom titles to Monster Hunter Rise and Stories 2. More of these collaborations are coming in the future.

Monster Hunter Rice was released in March and has become a great place for beginners to jump into the series. Players can get the free version 3.0 update on May 27th. Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Rouen will hit shelves and Nintendo’s Ishop on July 9th.
