Microsoft has announced an innovation that gamers have long been expecting from it. Starting today, April 21, 2021, online multiplayer is available for Xbox users in free-to-play without an active paid Xbox Live Gold subscription.

Simply put, games like Fortnite or Apex Legends are now completely free to play on Xbox. Microsoft’s press service explained.

After listening to feedback from players, we decided to change the terms today and now all Xbox owners will have access to a library of more than 50 free-to-play games that support online multiplayer, at no additional cost. ”
