Microsoft’s new ‘Forza Motorsport’ game will support real-time light tracking on the track

Recently, the game’s creative director emphasized that ray tracing will indeed appear “while playing the game” and not falsely advertised. Forza’s new creative director, Chris Esaki, said Thursday that developer Turn 10 wasn’t trying to “mislead” or “joke with words.”

“Ray tracing is here. It’s on the right track, and most importantly, it’s real-time gaming,” he said on the stream. “I really wanted to make it clear: when we say ‘on the track’ it doesn’t mean it’s just in playback, or just in photo mode on the track .”

“When you play it, it’s immersive, it can be subtle at times, but it’s really just bringing you into the visual and the experience, which is different from what we’ve had before. When we talk about ray tracing, Yeah, it looks amazing: it looks photoreal, it looks immersive, and you get that in the game -I want to be very clear about that.”

Moreover, “GT Racing 7” cannot enable ray tracing during the game, and can only be displayed in playback and garage modes. Chris Esaki also sneered at this practice.

However, real-time ray tracing in the game will bring a great burden to the hardware, which may cause the number of game frames and picture quality to decrease. Exactly how the light chasing effect of the new “Forza Motorsport” works, we still need to wait until the game’s real machine demo is online to know.
