Resident Evil 4 will re-released on VR at Oculus Quest 2 headset

Resident Evil 4 will be re-released in virtual reality on the Oculus Quest 2 headset. The VR remake of the Resident Evil 4 series will be a collaboration between publisher Capcom, Oculus parent company Facebook and independent studio Armor.

While Capcom did not introduce in more detail, some early footage showed a first-person adaptation of the classic third-person shooter. Capcom confirmed at the Resident Evil 8 Village showcase that Resident Evil 4 will be adapting to the Oculus Quest 2 VR headset. The game is being developed by Oculus Studios, Capcom, and Armature Studio from a first-person perspective.

The project will be presented in more detail at an event entirely dedicated to Oculus games. Facebook announced a few days ago that the Oculus Gaming Showcase will take place on April 21, featuring Pistol Whip, Lone Echo II, and Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge, and now Resident Evil 4 can be added to them.

 

Resident Evil 4 first came out in 2005 on the Nintendo GameCube and then hit a number of other platforms. What these fans have asked for is not a remake of Resident Evil 4, and non-VR users still want to focus on the rest, funded by fans of the original game.

But in that series, it seems that VR in particular. The first foray into creating games for – it’s something that can provide a very different experience than adding headset support to a non-VR game.
