A British consumer group has urged Nintendo to launch an internal investigation into the persistent Joy-Con controller joystick drift problem. According to Sky News, UK consumer group Which? A survey of 919 Switch users found that 40% of respondents had problems with Joy-Con joystick drift. However, only 73% of users who experienced joystick drift contacted Nintendo about it.
The Joy-Con joystick drift problem has plagued Switch users since its launch in 2017. Despite Nintendo’s modifications to the Joy-Con’s internals, the investigation says the problem persists even with the newly released Joy-Con controller.

Which? Rocio Concha, Director of Policy and Advocacy, said: “Our research shows that drift issues continue to plague Nintendo Switch owners, but they tend to pay for the replacement of faulty controllers themselves, or not get a full fix when they contact Nintendo for support. Nintendo needs to entrust Conduct an urgent independent investigation into why this problem arose and make its findings public .”
Moreover, a former director of the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con repair center in the United States claimed that the repair center was full of faulty controllers. ” Thousands of Joy-Cons with drifting joysticks were sent in every week, and even ended up having to carve out a new separate workspace for Joy-Con repairs,” the executive said.
According to reports, Nintendo officially responded to Which?’s investigation by saying: “The percentage of Joy-Con controllers that have been reported as problems with the joystick in the past is small, and we have been making continuous improvements to the Joy-Con joystick since its launch in 2017.
