Google app is testing Lens shortcut for Android devices

Google Lens lets you search what you see, get things done faster, and understand the world around you—using just your camera or a photo. The iOS users can access this feature as a part of the search. Now Google app is testing the Lens shortcut feature for Android users.

Google Lens is powered and updated by the Google app on Android. The Android users can access this feature after opening the Assistant panel.

Google Assistant works on iOS as a standalone application and the Lens feature is a part of Google Search client. iPhone users can access Lens directly from the search bar.

The Google app is working to bring Android users the same shortcut as iOS. Currently, some users using the 11.31 beta version that carries the Lens icon at the right side, and the voice search icon moved to the left side. By tapping the Lens icon, users can simply use Lens.

This feature is only available for beta users and not yet widely rolled out.
