Google photos ‘Locked folder’ feature will allow users to save photos and videos in password-protected folders. Once the media is stored in the locked folder, it will not be displayed when the user browses Google Photos or any other gallery application on the smartphone.
This feature was very first introduced for pixel devices which was the first Android phone to have the ability to secure your personal images or videos. After attestation that more devices will gain access soon, the lock folder feature in Google Photos appears to now work on non-Pixel Android devices.

As per the latest information, Google is now starting to provide new features to secure your images and videos for other Android devices within Google photos. We have seen this option in the “Utilities” section of the photo app on many devices such as Oppo, OnePlus, and Samsung. Some people will see a notification pop-up window prompting them to set up a locked folder, but not everyone does.
How to access Locked Folder:
If you are confused whether your Android device has this feature or not, if yes, how to access it, then here you get the answer. Open Google Photos. Go to Library > Utilities and then tap Set up Locked Folder. Google Photos will now show you a screen to detail the characteristics of the Locked Folder feature. Tap Set up Locked Folder to proceed.
