Google Photos will soon animate your still photos using machine learning

Google Photos is coming soon with a spectacular new feature that lets you use two similar images to create an animated image.

This function is implemented using machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies, which add missing frames between two shots, creating a “live moving image”.

Shimrit Ben-Yair of Google’s Development Department said that this feature will be very popular with parents who take a huge number of similar pictures of their young children.

The new feature is called cinematic moments and should not be confused with Google’s existing cinematic photography, which uses machine learning to add animated depth effects to images. Cinematic Moments will be available in the upcoming Google Photos update for Android and iOS.

This week Google introduced an updated Google Photos app with closed folders, the ability to not remember some people and events, and more.
