In early 2017, Instagram released a new feature by which users can combine up to ten photos and videos in a single post. This is a great feature, as a picture doesn’t always tell the whole story. With this feature, you don’t have to select a single picture to post, because you can post many perfect clicks in one.

However, the company does not allow you to delete a single photo or clip from this carousel. So, if you want to delete any of the photos or videos then you’ll need to delete the entire post and re-upload the other photos and videos to a new carousel.
Now, Instagram has finally added a new feature that is the ability to delete a photo or a video from the carousel. The new feature allows you to delete photos or videos you no longer need on the carousel while keeping the rest of the post intact.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced this new feature in the latest weekly update video on Twitter. He also revealed that Instagram users had been demanding this feature for a long time.
How to delete a photo a video from a Carousel?
Still, deleting a photo or video from the Instagram carousel is very simple. You can check the steps below.
- Firstly, click on the three-dot menu in the top right corner of the post.
- Select the “Edit” option.
- You’ll see a delete icon in the top left corner of each item on the carousel.
- Swipe up on the photo or video you want to delete, then tap the icon.
Currently, this feature is only available for iOS users and it will soon appear in the Android app. To be mentioned, you cannot add new items or replace items to an existing Instagram carousel as well as you also can’t reorder after posting.
