Latest Google Play Games update lets users to add ‘Games’ folder for homescreen

The Google Play Store is full of apps and games. And with the generous storage available on phones these days, many users find their phones full of many games. Google was working to organize all these installed games into a self-generated and auto-managed home screen folder with shortcuts to these games in a central, accessible place. This “Games” folder for the home screen is now being rolled out to some users.

When you allow Google Play to organize your games for you, it will add a new Play games folder to the home screen. This folder will be automatically generated by showing the app icon, app name, publisher information, and last playing status from all the games you have installed on your device.

The folder is different from the usual folders that are created on the home screen, as it is actually starting an activity in the Google Play Games app. The activity is not full screen, so you won’t leave it when you open your home screen. However, tapping the arrow icon in the upper right corner will redirect you to the Google Play Games app.

This feature should be rolled out to more users in the coming days. If you do not have multiple games installed on your device, the folder will show games within Google Play Games. For users who are in the habit of downloading and trying out new games, it will be very convenient to have all the games in an automatically managed shortcut.
