WhatsApp has confirmed the development of the Vacation Mode feature with WhatsApp beta version 2.20.206.2. With the help of this feature, your archived chats won’t be automatically unarchived anymore.

Currently, archived chats appear in the top bar and whenever a new message is received, archived chats will be hidden and it will no longer appear on the chat list.
With the Vacation Mode, we can see several changes in UI, which includes an “Archived” section above chat lists. Currently, there’s no information about the release of this feature for the general users.
