Microsoft Edge browser will recommend users to fix PWA application to Windows 10 taskbar

Microsoft is testing and recommending Edge PWA (Progressive Web Apps) applications for the Windows 10 taskbar. Users can see a new pop-up window in the taskbar to encourage users to try the Edge-driven PWA web pages application.

In the latest Edge browser Canary version, Microsoft has added a feature called “Web Apps Post Install Dialog”, which can automatically pop up a window in the upper right corner when the user opens a recently installed PWA application, suggesting that the user Add the PWA application to the taskbar and start menu.

Microsoft also allows the Edge browser PWA application to create desktop shortcuts and set it to start automatically.

In addition, the experience of PWA applications will be closer to traditional desktop applications, and Microsoft is testing to simplify the title bar of PWA applications to make them more like desktop applications.
