Microsoft will finally put an end to the Internet explorer next year

Several years ago, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer browser was one of the main ones in terms of market share, which was facilitated by the integration into Windows. However, its development was discontinued, and technology continued to progress so that the browser gradually became more and more inferior to the alternatives in terms of performance and security.

The latest version of Internet Explorer is version 11 – and even with the new Chromium-based Microsoft Edge, it is still in use if the PC is running Windows. The fact is that many applications rely on the presence of Internet Explorer for their work. The absence of a browser will lead to errors and disruption of normal performance.

However, yesterday Microsoft announced that it is going to put an end to the history of Internet Explorer 11. Named and the date after which the presence of an outdated browser can not count. This is June 15, 2022.

The company discussed how it plans to ensure the continued operation of applications and sites that require Internet Explorer. To do this, the Edge browser will implement compatibility mode with Internet Explorer. This will remove the old and unsafe piece of code from Windows while preserving the functionality of the applications.
