Earlier this month, Telegram rolled out a major update, which added unlimited live broadcasts, media subtitles, enhanced sticker panels, new animated emoji and more.

Now, the company has updated its instant messaging app to 8.0.1, which includes new options for customizing individual conversations, detailed learning receipts for groups, and the ability to record video and audio from real-time streaming media .
The latest update lets you set different themes for individual chats, share your feelings with loved ones using interactive emoji with fullscreen effects, see detailed read receipts in groups and record video and audio from live broadcasts.
Chat Themes
The most notable change in Telegram 8.0.1 is the introduction of new chat themes, allowing users to customize the look and feel of individual conversations. Users can choose from eight themes, with each theme having colorful message bubbles, a background animation, and unique background patterns.
You can set themes by following these steps:
- Click the Chat Header
- Tap on Change colors
- Telegram says it will add more conversational themes over time.
Interactive Emoji
Some animated emoji, including heart, thumbs, and explosives, are now interacting and showing the full effect on the screen. If the chat is open on both sides, animation and vibration will be played simultaneously.
Read Receipts in Groups
For groups, the new update introduces a major change in readable receipts. When you send a message to a group, the message will be marked as “read” as long as at least one member has read it.
Previously the message was marked “read” only after each member had read it. Additionally, you can now long-press on your message in small groups to see which groups of members you have read.
Live Stream Recording
Finally, administrators can now record live streams and video chats. Admins can choose whether they want to record both video and audio or audio-only. When the manager finishes recording, the recording file will be immediately uploaded to their Saved messages.
