Telegram gets over 25 million new users in just 72 hours amid revised WhatsApp policies

As we know, WhatsApp has recently revised its terms of services and users have to accept these new terms to continue using WhatsApp Messenger. Besides, the new policies also allow Facebook companies to take WhatsApp user’s data.

By knowing the new terms, WhatsApp users are finding its alternative option, and it looks like Telegram is becoming the first choice because of its privacy and security features. It is a cross-platform and cloud-based instant messaging service.

Telegram provides several notable features including end-to-end encrypted video calling, VoIP, file sharing, stickers, GIFs, and much more. Even, it is completely free and doesn’t contain ads. Telegram is also available in the web version.

According to the info (via HuaweiCentral), in the first week of January 2021, Telegram has more than 500 million active users. Moreover, the rising messaging app has got more than 25 million new users in just past 72 hours globally.

Out of 25 million new users, around 38% of users belong from Asia, 27% from European countries, 21% from Latin America, and 8% from the Middle East and North Africa.
