WhatsApp to launch new Avatars for Video Calls

WhatsApp is working on the Avatar feature. This new feature is under beta testing and allows users to create representations of themselves, virtually. The latest beta version contains code that makes WhatsApp’s Avatar feature seems the same as Facebook and Messenger apps. Perhaps, it is yet to confirm any details about the avatar feature that is under development, as of now.

WhatsApp is likely to introduce a separate corner for avatars in its future update. This feature was noticed in beta version 2.22.16.11 for Android, which is downloadable through the Google beta Programme. WhatsApp users can create and customize their Avatars, and can also use and share them as stickers with their contacts.

WhatsApp may allow its users to mask themselves using these avatars at the time of video calls. Users are waiting for the official announcement but at the current point of time, there is no information about the launch of the feature.

Additionally, WhatsApp is also working on launching quick reactions for status updates on the Android app. This feature is reportedly seen on WhatsApp beta version 2.22.16.10 for Android. Reportedly, the company is also working on a gallery view updated version for the Windows desktop.
