Samsung display will produce world’s first 90Hz OLED display for laptop

Samsung Display will initially launch 14-inch, 90Hz LED displays starting in March. While most laptops and notebooks now offer a 60 Hz refresh rate. Recently, Samsung Display has announced that it will mass-produce the world’s first 90 Hz LED laptops in the first quarter of this year.

Although the accurate features are not revealed, these displays are expected to be available on laptops and notebooks released by “many global IT companies”.

Samsung Display said, “OLED display panels can best satisfy the diverse consumer needs for laptops used in telework, online education, video streaming, and gaming”.

The company claims that 90Hz OLED screens offer fast driving performance similar to 120Hz LCD. “Samsung Display tested the dim length using the same image as the high-speed driving car and found that the image drag on the 90Hz OLED and 120Hz high refresh rate LCD screens was 0.9mm and 1mm, respectively, at the same rate. ”

Samsung Display does not specify which OEM partners will receive these new 90Hz OLED displays, but it could receive in a new era of quality. OLED displays are rare on some laptops, but you can find them in some gaming options. The introduction of the 90Hz refresh rate enhances the gaming experience on laptops and makes the everyday experience smoother.

Apple is likely to adopt new screens of the Samsung display. It is rumored that Cupertino company will unveil the 14-inch MacBook Pro this year, just as Samsung has launched a massive production of the Display. It’s just a valuation deal, but it’s definitely an opportunity.
