Apple to introduce its AR headsets with Sony’s micro displays: Report

Apple is working on virtual reality and augmented reality headset which could arrive in 2021. There are other rumors which claim that Apple is planning to introduce its smart glasses named ‘Apple Glass’.

Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun spotted by Macotakara claims, Apple and Sony are working together on new display technology that Apple could use in the rumored AR headsets. These displays will consist of OLED panels and will feature a high image quality with a lightweight design.

It is claimed that these headsets will be used for both AR and VR content and will project images from the display onto the lens using a mechanism in front of the user.

An earlier report from Bloomberg says that Apple could release an AR headset for gaming which is expected at some time in 2022.

Reports have created a confusing mess as to what we can expect in these rumored headsets from Apple. As of now, the expectations says that we can expect two headsets from Apple. The first is the AR headset for gaming and a normal pair of AR glass. The gaming headsets are rumored to be introduced later in 2022 will offer a next-gen gaming experience and rich VR content.
