Adobe recently updated the Lightroom app for Mac and iOS, bringing a new set of image editing features and the ability to edit video for the first time. With the release of version 5.4 for Mac and version 7.4 for iOS, Lightroom now allows editing videos with the same controls as photos. You can trim video, adjust color and exposure, and apply video-optimized presets.

At the same time, Adobe has added a new class of AI-powered adaptive presets to edit the sky or subject in a photo with one click, while a new preset amount slider controls the intensity of the preset. Also added is support for a new red-eye removal feature that automatically finds and removes red-eye with one click, and a new comparison view that allows photos to be compared side-by-side.
There are also over 50 new handcrafted premium presets designed for videos, portraits, and live concert photos, and the community-based Discover section is now searchable, making it easier for users to find topics of interest and the likes of photographers.
A new Invert Mask option has also been added to this release to invert a mask at the group and component level, and users now also have the option to duplicate and invert a mask. Additionally, sky and object selection AI masks can now be copied and pasted onto other photos, and are automatically recalculated, so there’s no need to manually apply new masks to each photo.
Lightroom for Mac is available through Adobe’s Creative Cloud 1TB Lightroom plan for $9.99 per month, or through its 20GB and 1TB Photography plans, which bundle Photoshop and Lightroom for $9.99 and $19.99 per month, respectively.
Moreover, Lightroom for iPhone and iPad is available as a free download from the App Store and includes several in-app premium storage subscription options starting at $1.99 per month for 40GB.
