Apple iOS 16.6 coming soon, internal testing underway

Apple iPhone users are busy collecting the iOS 16.5 open beta 2 and enjoying their features. Meanwhile, new rumors emerging on the social platform state that the tech giant is testing a new software product named Apple iOS 16.6.

According to MacRumors, Apple has begun testing another firmware – iOS 16.6 internally. Further, the site mentions that this could be the last update in the iOS 16 software house, before the major iOS 17 upgrade.

While there is no confirmation when the company will release the first beta of iOS 16.6, an assumption is that we may get the new iteration sometime in May, before the WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference).

For your information, the WWDC event will take place from June 5 to June 9 this year. Here, Apple will announce the iOS 17 and other new products on the stage. Since the tech maker usually avails all the first betas of the x.6 version prior to the event, we could anticipate the same case here as well.

Speaking of the iOS 16.6 version, it will be a minor update or we can say an appetizer before the iOS 17 meal. Features like Apple Card’s saving account, and iMessage Contact Key Verification could make their way with the new build. Yet, confirmation from the company is still awaited.
