While the WFR IP doesn’t mention AirPods by name, it claims Apple infringes its patents by “manufacturing, using, offering for sale, and selling wireless earphones and wearable products and services,” according to AppleInsider.

It is reported that the patent involved is US Patent No. 9,438,984, entitled “Wearable Electronic Components and Memorandum”, which was granted in 2016; another patent is US Patent No. 7,505,793, entitled “Wireless Headphone Assembly”, issued in 2009 Authorized.

The report noted that the lawsuit did not provide specific evidence for infringement, nor did it specify a specific product. WFR IP is currently seeking a declaratory decision from the court, as well as damages, attorney’s fees, and other relief.
