Apple reportedly planning to discontinue iPhone 12 Mini in the second half of 2021

The latest handsets from Apple are the iPhone 12 models which were unveiled back in October last year. The company launched four new iPhones with the series that are iPhone 12, 12 Mini, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max.

With the iPhone 11 series, the company brought three iPhones while along with the latest 12 lineup, the US tech giant has also added a lite version to the series called the iPhone 12 Mini. This model was aimed to target the lower end of the market but it seems that it has failed to do this.

Mini comes with all the same features as the iPhone 12 including the 5G connectivity, latest A14 Bionic chip, and much more. The only difference between the 12 Mini and 12 is the display size. Mini comes with a 5.4-inch display over the 6.1-inch screen of the iPhone 12.

As per the latest report, Looking at the low demand, Apple is planning to discontinue the iPhone 12 Mini model in the second quarter of 2021. If the company does that then this iPhone will be the shortest-lived iPhone to date from Apple.

In the previous report, we have also witnessed that the company has shifted its iPhone 12 Mini production in the favour of iPhone 12 models. So, what leads Apple to think for discontinuation of this 5.4-inch small, compact, and slim iPhone 12 Mini?

The price of this iPhone is one of the reasons, of why it is facing such low sales in the market. And the other reason being the display size. The iPhone 12 comes with the price tag of 799 USD and the iPhone 12 Mini is priced at 699 USD. While the previous iPhone 11 is available with a price less than the 12 Mini.

This makes the users rethink between the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini and the iPhone 11 of whether they want a big display or the powerful processor and 5G connectivity. Although, the info is now yet officially confirmed by the company and there is more to come on this in the coming days.
