Apple reportedly working on new iMacs with narrow bezel XDR design, and more powerful Silicon Chip

Apple is reportedly working on its new iMacs that will be released in 2021, previously we have also received some news about the changes in the design of the upcoming Macs, and now the latest news from Bloomberg suggests some more changes.

In addition to the newly designed 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, Apple also has a major update plan for other Macs in the Mac product line. For more than a year, we have been hearing rumors about the redesigned iMac, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman shared a report today that provided the details.

According to the report, the bezel around the screen of the new iMac model will be slimmed down, the metal chin will also be eliminated, and the design will be similar to the Pro Display XDR monitor released by Apple in 2019.

iMacs will use a flat back design instead of a curved rear design, which is also the design adopted on the upcoming MacBook Pro models, and previous rumors described it as the “iPad Pro design language.” There will be two versions to replace the existing 21.5 and 27-inch models. There have been rumors that one of the models will be 23 to 24 inches in size.

Like the new MacBook Pro models, the redesigned iMac will also use Apple Silicon chips, and the revised appearance will be consistent with Apple’s move to get rid of Intel chips, allowing the iMac to have an updated processor and a new design at once.

Apple plans to equip the new iMac with a next-generation version of the Apple Silicon chip, which will be faster and more capable of GPU. The Apple Silicon chip that Apple is testing has up to 16 high-performance cores and 4 efficiency cores, and higher-end desktop models may have up to 32 high-performance cores.

Apple is also working on improving GPU technology and is testing 16-core and 32-core graphics components. Talking about the launch date, Apple is expected to release a new iMac in 2021, but the specific time to market is currently unknown.
