Apple rolling out first iOS 16.6 open beta for iPhone users

Apple has released the first iOS 16.6 open beta for its consumers. The latest development is available for public beta testers and non-developers to inspect and explore the new firmware before the official release. Besides, you can submit your feedback about your software experience.

Recently, the American manufacturer pushed the iOS 16.6 beta build for developers. While Apple fans were exploring how the stable iOS 16.5 works on their handsets, the company seeded another firmware in the ground. Probably, this could be the last version in the 16th software lineup.

Speaking of the changes, the Apple iOS 16.6 open beta doesn’t reveal any specific features or functions. However, some inputs suggested that the latest version might lay the groundwork for an iMessage Contact Key Verification. As the name reflects, it will create a shield for users, facing extraordinary digital threats.

In other words, the feature will let Apple device holders verify that they are texting the right person rather than a malicious entity. When enabled, the function will send an alert if the cloud servers ever break or the conversation is vulnerable to an imposition.

Since it’s just an assumption, we cannot mark any confirmation on it. Though you can check in the iOS 16.6 public beta with the 20G5026e version, whether the company has sowed this element or not. Alongside this, iPad users can also jump into this testing phase.
