The Apple MacArthur Center store is one of the few Apple Stores that are permanently closed without an alternative location. Apple issued the following statement on its website on Sunday.

“Thank you for more than 14 years of a great time. Our last day of business is May 14. Please visit apple.com/retail to find the nearest store.”

In February of this year, Apple stated that it plans to provide all team members with other work within Apple. Although the MacArthur Center mall has seen a decline in foot traffic and loss of tenants in the past few years, Apple will continue to serve nearby customers at the Applelin Haven Mall in Virginia Beach. The Apple MacArthur Center opened in September 2006.
