Apple Watch is now worn on over 100 million wrists globally: Report

Apple introduced its watch in the year 2015 and since then the company has been continuously releasing its new version with several upgrades. The Apple Watch packs a bunch of features including heart rate measuring, fall detection, Blood Oxygen monitoring, and much more. Even in some cases, these watches are also proved to be life-saving.

The Apple Watch not only has great internal features but also comes with a premium design that looks attractive on your wrist. These watches are becoming famous nowadays with their accurate health tracking features and as per the effect of the health awareness among the peoples due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the latest data released by the AboveAvalon, it took 5 and a half years for Apple to surpass the 100 million users. The users of the Apple Watch have constantly increased from the year 2015 to 2020. The 30 million new people that began wearing an Apple Watch in 2020 nearly exceeded the number of new Apple Watch wearers in 2015, 2016, and 2017 combined.

It can be assumed that the iPhone has been a hindrance for the Apple Watch in these years. As one must have an iPhone to set up Apple Watch that can be set up using an Apple ID. As of 2020, Approx 10% of iPhone users were wearing an Apple Watch.

Now coming to the major market of Apple Watch which is the United States, at the end of 2020, the watch was worn by over 35% of iPhone users. This is further expected to grow in the coming days as the health awareness of the people increases and as long as the Apple Watches continue to provide accurate health stats.
