In addition, iOS 15 is expected to add the always-on screen functionality that has been available on Android devices over the past few years. Presumably, Apple can only add this feature to smartphones of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 lines.

Chinese sources have published a fresh list of smartphones that should receive an update to iOS 15. This list includes smartphones from the iPhone 12, iPhone 11, iPhone XS, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 7, and iPhone SE 2020 lines.

Apple will refuse to release updates for the first generation iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and iPhone SE. Sources also report that The company may present hardware innovations at the event, including iPad mini, AirPods 3, and Macbook Pro 14/16.
