How to unlock Apple iPhone with Face ID while wearing mask

Apple introduced its Face ID, the facial recognition system with the launch of the iPhone X which replaced its traditional Touch ID. With this new replacement, Users can unlock their iPhones in a much simpler way than before.

Besides the advantage of Face ID recognition, there also some cons of this system. The function does not work when a person wears a mask or while the face is covered. In this case, the Touch ID would be a better option for unlocking purposes.

With the global COVID-19 pandemic, people are forced to wear masks in public places, and with the mask on it is not possible to unlock the phone. However, Apple is working on a new system that will help users to unlock their iPhone using Face ID even with the mask on.

  • Launch Watch app on the iPhone
  • Select Passcode
  • Turn Passcode on
  • Then enter the passcode you want to set

You have to enter the passcode for the first time you unlock your iPhone and then, Once you do that then all the attempts to unlock the iPhone with the Apple Watch will be successful with haptic touch. You have to re-enter the passcode each time you remove the Apple Watch and also for the first time you unlock the iPhone each day. Now let’s get on to how you can adjust the settings to use this feature.
