With iOS 14.5 developer beta, iPhones can recognize Face ID even with face mask

With the COVID-19 pandemic, it has become mandatory to wear a mask in a public place. This was a hindrance for the iPhone users as the company only provides a face unlock feature. But this might change with Apple’s upcoming update.

The US tech giant has recently released the developers beta for the upcoming iOS 14.5 version and as per the latest information, this new beta update arrives with a new feature that allows users to unlock their iPhone with their face mask on.

The iPhone owners will be easily able to unlock their iPhone using the Apple Watch on their wrist. The Apple Watch will have Face ID automatically unlocked once the iPhone detects the face mask. Apple makes sure of full privacy while this process is done, the iPhone will be unlocked because the Apple Watch has already verified a user’s passcode to unlock the watch.
