Samsung to exclusively supply 120Hz displays for Apple iPhone 13

Apple begins testing iPhone 15 with USB-C charging port

And finally, it seems that it is coming to the iPhones, the most awaited 120Hz OLED displays. As per the previous report, Apple’s upcoming iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max models will use OLED displays and support a 120Hz refresh rate.

According to the latest information from Korean media Elec that Samsung will exclusively supply the 120Hz display for the iPhone 13 Pro model.

At the same time, two high-end iPhones using RFPCB this year will be equipped with low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) thin-film transistor (TFT) OLED panels.

The 120Hz refresh rate screen requires LTPO OLED, and these panels will be provided exclusively by Samsung Display.

The LTPO OLED panel can turn on and off a single pixel on the display, and has better battery life. The battery life is sometimes a concern for iPhone users and I hope it will be increased this time.

Previously, display analyst Ross Young said in mid-April that the two high-end “iPhone 13 Pro” models to be launched in 2021 are expected to use LTPO display technology and support a 120Hz refresh rate.

In March this year, Tianfeng International analyst Ming-Chi Guo pointed out in a report that the two high-end iPhones in the second half of 2021 will have more specifications upgrades, and the screen will use more power-efficient LTPO technology and support 120Hz.
