Microsoft rolling out new update for Xbox dashboard with improved downloading speed

Microsoft is bringing a new Xbox April dashboard update that will improve the way games are downloaded. The new feature will now allow Xbox owners to suspend games to speed up downloads. Currently, if another game is active, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S systems throttle game updates and new game downloads.

This new suspended option can be paired with Quick Resume on Xbox Series X / S to quickly pause the game, download game updates, or download a new game together and then restart the suspended game. This is a much cleaner option than manually dropping the game or app, to make sure the download speed doesn’t throttle.

With this new dashboard option, Microsoft is finally upgrading its Xbox mobile app to bring back achievements. The newly designed app was relaunched in October and on Android and iOS, but it lacks the achievements functionality and many other features previously included in the mobile app.

Monthly leaderboards for achievements are also starting to appear for some Xbox mobile app users, and Microsoft says “everyone will see these updates in the app by the end of the month.”
