Nintendo declines to comment on production of Switch Pro: Report

Rumors about the Nintendo Switch Pro have been around for months, but recently several publications have reported details, the device will receive an OLED screen, powerful games at launch, DLSS, and affordability.

The Nikkei editors found a document in which Nintendo asks partners to increase production and release up to 30 million Nintendo Switch units. Simply put – Nintendo wants to release the largest number of hybrid consoles in history in 12 months (from April 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022).

Nintendo shipped 24 million units in the first nine months of the previous fiscal year (through March 31st). Nikkei emphasizes that the increase in production can be attributed to the creation of a “higher-end” console.

“Several employees admitted to us that they are considering increasing production. The company is also expected to release a more expensive model with higher picture quality, and this will be the first additional Switch model since the Nintendo Switch Lite launched in September 2019. ”

A Nintendo spokesman declined to comment, casually stating that he had nothing to say about “production numbers and higher-end models.”
