Panasonic has introduced the Lumix S 50mm F1.8 (S-S50) fast standard L-Mount lens. It is the fourth f / 1.8 maximum aperture in the Lumix S series. They all share the same size and control layout, making it easy to swap lenses on a cinematographer camera with only minimal gear adjustments. Another advantage related to the use of the Lumix S 50mm F1.8 (S-S50) for video shooting is the focusing mechanism that excludes “focus breathing”, that is, changing the focal length of the lens depending on the distance at which it focuses. Finally, micro-stepping aperture control lets you smoothly change exposure to create professional-quality videos.
