Comparing iPhone 12 series: iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max, what’s the difference?

Apple, the US tech giant unveiled its most awaited iPhone 12 series. The lineup consists of four new iPhone models- iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

All the iPhones are packed with next-generation features such as a more powerful A14 Bionic processor, ultra-smooth OLED display in all models for the first time, 5G connectivity, and much more.

Design-wise all the iPhones look similar and the difference can be noted only in their screen size. Despite the Pro models that come with surgical grade stainless steel has a slightly premium look.

Whereas, the iPhone 12 and 12 Mini features Aero-space aluminum edges. All the models in the line up come with a ceramic shield finish which is tougher than any other smartphone glass.

By just taking a look you may not find any difference between them. So, let’s dig a bit deeper into their specifications to know what makes them different from each other.

All the four iPhones come with a Super Retina XDR display, with HDR, wide colors, and haptic touch. The only difference which can be noticed among all the iPhone is in their display size and here it is:

Camera:

Apple added some new features in the camera of new iPhones such as the Apple ProRAW feature that allows you to edit any captured photo without losing its quality. The other is the LiDAR scanner which makes night mode portraits possible. AR apps can now transform a room into a realistic rainforest using the LiDAR. But Unfortunately, these new features are only available in the Pro models.

Storage Capacity:

Apple has made some changes in the storage capacity of its iPhones this year. The company excluded the 64GB variant from the Pro models and there only three storage variants available for iPhone 12 Pro and 12Pro Max, which are 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. While the non-Pro variants come with 64, 128, and 256GB storage options.

New iPhone models come with all the basic sensors with a new LiDAR Scanner included this year. Only the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max features LiDAR Scanner. Besides this, all the other sensors are the same.

Color Options:

This year’s iPhones come with many color options and Apple introduced a new Blue finish in iPhones for the first time.

The iPhone Mini and iPhone 12 come in five different color options which are Blue, Green, Product Red, White, and Black.

The Pro models are designed with four new finishes including Pacific Blue, Gold, Graphite, and Silver.

Price:

The iPhone 12 Mini starts at $699 for 64GB. Whereas the iPhone 12 is priced at $799 for 64GB. Similarly, the Pro models start from $999 for the iPhone 12 Pro 128GB variant and $1099 for iPhone 12 Pro Max. The price for these models will increase if you choose a higher storage variant.
