Here’s what One UI mod said about Dynamic Island feature for Samsung devices

iPhone 14 Dynamic Island Xiaomi

Apple recently launched its latest creation – the iPhone 14 series. While there are many new features and improvements over the previous models, one most notable feature the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max come with is Dynamic Island.

The feature is quite new on smartphones and Android users also wish to have a similar feature. Moving ahead, a Samsung customer in the US community has also requested the One UI beta moderator to bring the iPhone 14 Pro-like Dynamic Island feature for Galaxy devices.

Describing his words, the user said that Samsung disabled the Good Lock’s Edge Lighting function that allowed the display cutout customization. He asked the company to bring back this feature along with the addition of features like music playback to the pill area/punch hole.

Well, the One UI Beta moderator has replied to the user’s concern and said that his suggestion has been communicated to the developer and the development project manager is reviewing the content.

He further said (via SammyFans), “After reviewing your suggestions, we will apply them to the official version if your proposal matches our concept.”

However, it seems Samsung would not bring any such feature to the upcoming Galaxy smartphones as the company is planning to completely ditch the selfie camera cut-out and bring the under-display camera.

Last year, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 introduced Samsung’s first UDC, and this year’s Galaxy Z Fold 4 has also arrived with the same tech. The company is next looking to install such functions in the premium Galaxy S series phones, we might see UDC in the Galaxy S24 or S24 Ultra (undetermined name) in the coming years.

Good Lock, on the other hand, provides you with the next level of customization option. Samsung has already brought customization for display cutouts through the Edge Lighting module and it’s possible for the application to introduce iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island-like features.
