Huawei Mate 40E:

Back in March last year, Huawei revealed the Huawei Mate 40E smartphone with  Kirin 990E 5G processor. This smartphone features a 6.5-inch display with 2376 x 1080 resolution, 90Hz screen refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and pre-installed with EMUI 11 operating system.

Huawei Mate 40E smartphone features a 64MP triple camera system, 13MP front camera system, 8GB of RAM, 128 and 256GB of internal storage, and 4200 mAh battery with 40W wireless super-fast charging.

HiSilicon Kirin 9000L chipset:

As per the latest information, the HiSilicon Kirin 9000L chipset design will be similar to Kirin 9000 and 9000E but has reduced GPU and NPU performance. This may be also the reduced version of the Kirin 9000 and 9000E in terms of display and camera performance.

Regardless, it seems to be processed with Samsung’s 5nm EUV process technology. In terms of configuration, the Kirin 9000L’s SoC also has much lower core counts in the GPU section, including an 18-core Mali-G78 CPU, which is 24 and 22 cores on Kirin 9000 and 9000E respectively.

If we talk about AI processing, the NPU of the Kirin 9000L only has one large NPU core, while the Kirin 9000 and 9000E equips 2 cores inside the Neural Processing Unit. Further, the Kirin 9000L will come with a reduced clock speed and is clocked at 2.86Ghz.
