LG has reportedly discontinued smartphone production, some phones will still get Android 12 and Android 13

LG Electronics officially stated to it that it had officially stopped production of mobile phones at the end of May. LG’s mobile phone production line in Vietnam will be transferred to household appliances and plans to complete the redistribution of mobile phone production line workers by the end of July.

As a farewell ceremony, LG originally planned to produce 3,000 LG Velvet 2 Pro (LG V70) phones for employees to purchase, but due to manufacturing problems, this plan was not realized.

LG previously stated that it would shut down its mobile phone business before July 31. The official said it would continue to roll out Android 11 operating system updates for supported models and provide Android 12 updates for some devices.

Android 11:

  • LG Wing, Velvet, Velvet LTE, V50S, V50, G8, Q31, Q51, Q52, Q61, Q70, Q92, Q9 One

Android 12:

  • LG Wing, Velvet, Velvet LTE, V50S, V50, G8, Q31, Q52, Q92

Android 13:

  • LG Wing, Velvet, Velvet LTE
