Next iPhones to come with under display Touch ID: Tipster

Apple is working to add new technology in its upcoming iPhones, which is an under-display Touch ID. The recently launched iPad Air fourth-gen added a Touch ID in its power button and now a leak suggests that the upcoming iPhone might also come with Touch ID.

Leaker Lovetodream on its Twitter shared a phrase that reads ‘MESA uts for iPhone’. Apple uses Mesa as a code name for Touch ID, and uts here means ‘under the screen’. It means that we may see Touch ID to come back in next year’s iPhones.

Apple introduced Face ID along with its iPhone X series and since then iPhones are coming without Touch ID. This functionality could make its presence back in the upcoming iPhones, offering both of these features.

If Apple adds both of these functionalities in an iPhone then it will give users a more secure and reliable way of authentication. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is now mandatory to wear a mask in public places in many countries around the world.

In that case, it will become difficult to use FaceID in public places. The addition of TouchID will provide users with a new and easy way to unlock their iPhones.
