Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra: Everything you need to know

At the 2020 Unpacked event, Samsung unveiled its latest flagship – Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra. These two new devices offer large displays for the maximum viewing experience, the new camera system with a 108MP super-resolution lense for quality photography, a bigger battery for long-lasting performance, 7nm processors, the new and improved S-Pen stylus and even more.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series comes with many new features. So let’s explore this lineup in detail.

Display:

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra sports 6.9-inch edge Quad HD+ display. On the other hand, Galaxy Note 20 comes with a 6.7-inch flat FHD+ (2400 x 1080), providing a large and immersive viewing experience and to enjoy smooth gaming experiences. These two new flagships inherit the Infinity-O hole-punch display design to provide the maximum amount display.

S Pen:

There are no new Note-series without an “S-Pen”. The new S Pen and Samsung Note 20 series provide a more powerful experience with enhanced writing experience for maximum productivity.

The new S Pen has deep-learning technology as it capitalizes and flows swiftly on the 120Hz refresh rate. There’s also a major on the built-in remote controls.

The Bluetooth enabled S Pen comes with Lithium Titanate Battery, providing up to 24 hours of battery standby time. As well as pressure sensitivity level of 4096 and IP68 certification for waterproofing.

Battery:

Big phones with big displays consume more battery than regular size devices, especially when you have a 120Hz display refresh rate. This is why Samsung has installed two large size battery on each model. The Galaxy Note 20 comes with a 4300mAh battery, while the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra packs a 4500mAh battery.

Design:

The Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra comes with a new design, that represents the heritage of the Note series with extended durability as well as new Mystic color options to match the S Pen.

These phones have soft, neutral tones and a textured haze finish, which adds an extra touch and gives a premium feel to the consumers.

Camera:

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra equips with triple rear camera system consisting of a 12MP Ultra-Wide Angle Camera with 120-degree field of view and F2.2 aperture + a 108 MP Wide-angle main camera + a 12MP periscope Telephoto zoom camera that supports 5X Optical zoom and up to 50X Super-Resolution Zoom with Optical image stabilization (OIS).

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 also equips triple rear camera system consisting of a 12MP Ultra-Wide Angle Camera with 120-degree field of view and F2.2 aperture + a 12MP Wide-angle camera with Super Speed Dual Pixel AF, OIS + a 64MP Telephoto camera, supporting 3X hybrid optical zoom and up to 30X Super-Resolution Zoom with Optical image stabilization (OIS).

On the front side, both of these phones have a 10MP selfie camera with dual pixel autofocus and F/2.2. aperture. The Galaxy Note 20 series supports 8K with 21:9 aspect ratio and 24fps video recording, for ultra-high resolution and professional-quality videos.

The Galaxy Note 20 series shipping all around the globe and it is available with two different 7nm processors – Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus and Exynos 990.

Both of these versions are 5G enabled and allow users to take advantage of Sub-6 and mmWave networks. However, the company will still sell the 4G Variants of the Note 20 series in some markets.

With Galaxy Note 20 series, Samsung has also improved its Samsung DeX experience, and now users can connect their Note 20 device with Smart TV wirelessly, while still allowing you open and use apps on your smartphone.

Users can also watch movies together with family and friends while using the Galaxy Note 20 series as a remote and control the mirroring and casting features right from your phone.

Moreover, the Galaxy Note 20 series also introduces new three-finger Touch Pad controls to Samsung Dex for easier navigation when using Samsung DeX without the need for additional accessories.

Pre-orders for the Galaxy Note20 Ultra and Galaxy Note20 in the U.S. begin August 6, 2020, at 12:01 am ET.
