Samsung Galaxy S22 bootloader unlocking isn’t harming Camera

Last year with the launch of the second-generation foldable Galaxy Z Fold 3, Samsung has started destroying the Camera functionality when unlocking the bootloader, courtesy of the enhanced Knox platform. Well, the case is not the same with the company’s latest Galaxy S22 flagship lineup.

XDA’s recent report reveals that Samsung has stopped killing the Camera capability with the Galaxy S22 series smartphones which means, consumers can unlock the bootloader to run third-party codes without getting worried about the broken Camera.

Samsung Galaxy S22 series comes with the Android 12-based One UI 4.1, however, Samsung discontinued breaking Camera with the One UI 4.0 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Meanwhile, the Canadian and US variants’ bootloader can’t be unlocked at all, consumers from other regions can unlock the bootloader on the Exynos variant (SM-S90xB).

All cameras work fine with the stock app, including saving pictures to the disk, zooming/camera switch and night mode.”

Yet, if you unlock your phone’s bootloader, you will lose access to the Samsung Knox platform, while the Camera functionality will remain working seamlessly.
