Samsung Galaxy S22+/S22 Ultra 25W and 45W charging don’t have difference

Earlier this month on February 9, 2022, Samsung launched the Galaxy S22 premium flagships series, and now, their inspections have started to arise on the net. Recently, the GSMArena review team tested the super-fast charging capability of Samsung Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra phones, proving 45W charging is a lie.

At the same time, South Korean tech maker has already launched their mobile phones with up to 120W fast-charging capacity, 45W charging speed isn’t a big deal as it comes with Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Meanwhile, we can take it as a major development against products from Chinese rivals.

GSMArena review team used to charge the Galaxy S22+ and S22 Ultra models with three chargers including the original Samsung 45W and 25W (PD/PPS) chargers as well as a third-party 65W PD charger. You can check the charging speed review below.

Here is 30 min charging test

In the rear 30 minutes, the Galaxy S22+ reached 62% and 64% with the original Samsung 25W and 45W chargers respectively. Within the same duration, the Galaxy S22 Ultra reached 61% and 60% with 25W and 45W chargers respectively.Aside from this, the third-party 65W PD adapter charged the battery of the Galaxy S22 Ultra to 65% in 30 minutes. Meanwhile, it’s important to mention that those results are all within the margin of error.

Here is Full charge test

The Galaxy S22+ fully charged (from 0%) with the 45W charger in 1:01 hours, while 1:02 hours with 25W adapter. At the same time, the S22 Ultra took 59 minutes to fully charge with the 45W charger, while exactly 1:04 hours with the 25W one. When it comes to the 65W PD third-party charger, it took 1:02 hours to charge the Galaxy S22 Ultra from 0% to 100%.

So, the question is there that what’s the change in charging duration when using a charger with higher watt? It obviously hints at there’s nothing new for Samsung Galaxy S22+ and S22 Ultra charging, and 45W charging is a lie.
