Samsung might not make much camera improvements in Galaxy Z Fold 3 compared to its predecessor

Samsung has launched a number of Galaxy smartphones this year including the flagship Galaxy S21 series. The company has also introduced several budgets and mid-range devices as well. In the coming days, it will launch new notebooks at the coming event on April 28, 2020.

On the other hand, the South Korean technology giant has announced that it will not launch a new Galaxy Note series smartphone this year due to chip shortages and unbalanced supply. However, it is preparing to launch its next-generation foldable phone, and there may be two new and different foldable models launched by Samsung in the near future.

Although we have encountered a lot of leaks and rumors about the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 2, recently, the detonator claimed to increase this number by revealing the camera specifications of the upcoming foldable phone. According to @FrontTron, due to upgrades to other areas, Samsung will once again ignore the introduction of powerful camera functions into its next-generation bendable phones.

In addition, according to sources, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be equipped with three 12-megapixel rear cameras, a 10-megapixel overlay camera, and a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies on a foldable panel.  In addition, the outer cover selfie camera may be a Sony IMX374 sensor, the same as the Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Fold 2.

On the other hand, this 16-megapixel selfie camera may be an older IMX298 sensor that made its debut about 6 years ago. It is worth mentioning that the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is equipped with a 12-megapixel OIS main camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, with only 2x optical zoom.

Ongoing models include a 12MP main shooter with PDAF and OIS, a 12MP telephoto sensor with only 2x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide shooter. However, if this leak comes true, then apart from the upgrade of the selfie camera, we will get the same camera configuration as the current model.
