On May 11, 2021, Samsung applied to EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) and UKIPO (United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office) for the “Activated Fan Mode” trademark. The new trademark indicates that future Galaxy devices may be equipped with internal cooling fans, and users must activate the fan mode.
According to the trademark description, Samsung is expected to use internal cooling fans in future Galaxy phones to bring new cooling solutions. In addition, the user can manually activate the fan mode to bring a more powerful heat dissipation effect.
In addition, the Korean giant also applied for a trademark called “Unleash Your Fan Power”, which seems to be compatible with this trademark. We believe that the company is rapidly developing this technology to reduce serious heating problems in future Galaxy, or it may also be used in gaming smartphones.
As early as 2019, Nubia released the Red Magic 3 smartphone, which is equipped with a built-in active fan cooling function. Moreover, the recently launched Lenovo Savior 2 also has a fan cooling function. However, it is not clear that Samsung’s smartphones will be equipped with a so-called fan mode.
