Sony launches Xperia Pro as its first 5G phone in the US with Snapdragon 865 SoC

Sony has announced its first 5G smartphone in the US that is Xperia Pro with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 processor. The smartphone is specially made for professionals who can use it in a number of ways via HDMI input. As it’s a professional phone it comes at a high cost which goes to 2,499 USD.

Sony Xperia Pro sports a 6.5-inch OLED display with 4K resolution. On the rear, it features a triple rear camera for wide, telephoto, and ultra-wide cameras. Along with the previous generation Snapdragon 870 processor, the handset is packed with a 4000mAh battery.

To connect the smartphone via HDMI the port is available on the bottom of the phone, while the company shifted the USB Type-C port to the left of the device. The phone can be used with any of the cameras that have HDMI support. It can be attached to be used as an individual screen to give a clear shot.

For connectivity, the device comes with the support for the Sub-6GHz and mm-Wave in the United States. With 5G connectivity, it becomes the first 5G smartphone in the US. The previously launched Xperia 1II came with the 4G support in the US, while the same handset was available in Europe with 5G.

Talking about the price and availability, Sony Xperia is available in the US with a starting price of 2499 USD as it’s for the professionals, the price is not bothering, but still, it is high.
