Xiaomi could launch Redmi K40 with Snapdragon 870 chipset

More recently, the General Manager of Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi officially confirmed that the company will launch its next-generation flagship, Redmi K40 on February 25.

Now, before the official release, new information about the upcoming Redmi K40 device has surfaced online. The leaked screenshot shows that one of the main differences between the Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro is its processor.

The standard model is supported by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC, while the pro model is supported by the Snapdragon 888. 

The report reveals that there would be a third model in the series, supported by a 6nm process-based MediaTek Dimension 1200 chipset. The model name is expected to be Redmi K40S.

 

Both Redmi K40 and K40 Pro have similar display types, which is a 6.81 inch AMOLED panel on the front that supports 1440p screen resolution and uses the same E4 luminescent material as the Mi 11 with support a 120Hz refresh rate.

As per the camera specs, they will all be equipped with 108-megapixel main sensors. However, the Pro model is equipped with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 5-megapixel telephoto lens, while the standard model will be equipped with an 8-pixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and 5-megapixel telephoto lens. For selfie lovers, there’s a 30MP front camera.

The upcoming Redmi K40 can be equipped with dual stereo speakers and a long-lasting battery of around 4500mAh. For more information, stay tuned with us.
